PART-TIME POSITIONS:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, Inc., is offering up to 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Hourly rate is commensurate with education and experience.  Background Level 2 checks are required.

Open Positions at the Robert and Joan Lee Club include:

  • Youth Development Professionals
    • Monday – Friday 3:00 to 6:00 pm
    • Additional Hours possible on non-school days and during the Summer.
    • Conducts programs, supervises, evaluates and conducts daily age-appropriate activities with targeted youths.
    • Requirements:
      • High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Certificate and knowledge of youth development with a minimum of one (1) year experience in youth programs.
      • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
      • Computer skills a plus.
      • Ability to deal with the general public in a professional, courteous manner
      • CPR and First Aid certification a plus.
  • Teen Coordinator
    • Monday – Friday 2:00 to 6:00 pm
    • Additional Hours possible on non-school days and during the Summer.
    • Primary Function: Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities that involve teen members.
    • May be required to drive Club van.
    • Requirements:
      • High school diploma or GED.
      • Experience in working with teens.
      • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
      • Ability to deal with the general public.
      • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
      • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
      • Mandatory CPR/First Aid Certifications (new hires have 90 days to complete these requirements).
      • Valid State Drivers License.
  • Teen Support Staff
    • Monday – Friday 2:30 to 6:00 pm
    • Additional Hours possible on non-school days and during the Summer.
    • Primary Function: Assist Teen Coordinator – Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities that involve teen members.
    • May be required to drive Club van.
    • Requirements:
      • High school diploma or GED.
      • Experience in working with teens.
      • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
      • Ability to deal with the general public.
      • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
      • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

  • Technology Specialist
    • Monday – Friday 3:00 to 6:00 pm
    • Additional Hours possible on non-school days and during the Summer.
    • The Technology Specialist will lead our Club’s technology program, some of the programs we currently run are the following:
    • The Digital Arts Suite teaches members ages 6 to 18 how to create computer-generated art. In each of six programs (Animation Tech, Design Tech, Game Tech, Photo Tech, Music Tech and Movie Tech), members advance through three levels of animated lessons online and participate in instructor-led group activities.
    • LEGO Robotics immerses members in real-world science and technology challenges. Teams build LEGO-based robots and develop research projects. Through their participation, children develop valuable life skills and discover exciting career possibilities while learning that they can make a positive contribution to society.
    • Conducts programs, supervises, evaluates and conducts daily age-appropriate activities with targeted youths.
    • Requirements:
      • High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Certificate and knowledge of youth development with a minimum of one (1) year experience in youth programs

      • Graphic Design – Robotics skills a plus.
      • Ability to deal with the general public in a professional, courteous manner
      • CPR and First Aid certification a plus.
  • Art Coordinator
    • Monday – Friday 3:00 to 6:00 pm
    • Additional Hours possible on non-school days and during the Summer.
    • Primary Function: The Art Coordinator is the staff that will plan daily art activities and weekly programs. The Art Coordinator will provide support for the day-to-day operations.
    • Requirements:
      • High School Diploma, Some College Preferred.
      • Artistic talent a must.
      • Experience teaching art to students of all ages
      • Able to control classrooms
      • Able to pass background checks
