70 Boys & Girls Club members see Taylor Swift in concert

Club members Whitney, Keenan and Kyle eagerly await Taylor Swift’s performance at Raymond James Stadium.

Taylor Swift performs for nearly 60,000 people in Tampa.

On August 14, 70 Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County members traveled to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa to see pop-country megastar Taylor Swift perform in her sold-out Reputation Stadium Tour thanks to Tickets for Kids Charities.

Tickets for Kids Charities partners with youth-serving organizations across the U.S. to provide thousands of deserving youth with exclusive tickets to experience events in the arts, cultural, educational and athletic venues of their community that inspire hope, dreams and achievements for a lifetime.

“We are honored to partner with Tickets for Kids Charities and provide access for our Club members to participate in enriching activities that they may not have otherwise had the opportunity to experience,” said Tanya Orr, Community Engagement Manager at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County. “This new partnership will ensure our Club members feel included, valued and inspired to reach their full potential with special trips to places like concerts, ballgames and museums.”

As the Club members filed into Raymond James Stadium, attendants gave them wristbands and directed them to field seating, just rows away from the platform that the 10-time Grammy award-winning singer would soon be performing on.

“This was my very first concert, and I couldn’t believe how close I was to the stage!” said 17-year-old Raven from the Newtown Estates Park Boys & Girls Club. “I knew this was going to be such a fun experience with my Boys & Girls Club family.”

The show began at 7 p.m. with opening acts from Charli XCX and Camila Cabello. By the time Taylor took the stage, the stadium was completely filled with 60,000 fans from top to bottom.

“The concert was unbelievable!” said Kyle, 17, from the Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club. “It was a full production from start to finish with insane stage effects, lighting, inflatable snakes, fireworks and back-up dancers. I loved every minute.”

Ten-year-old Desiree from the Gene Matthews Boys & Girls Club said, “It was so cool! At one point, Taylor flew over the crowd and landed on a stage right in front of us! I loved dancing and singing with my friends all night.”

Thank you to Tickets for Kids Charities for giving our Club members this unforgettable experience.

“I was totally blown away,” said Rickey, 18, from the Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club. “My dream is to be a performer one day just like Taylor. Her show was so inspiring, and makes me want to work even harder toward my dream. I’ll never forget this concert!”
