The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County celebrated graduating seniors from area high schools at the agency’s annual Senior Banquet on Thursday, May 18. The seniors have participated in a variety of Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County’s leadership and service programs such as SRQVolunteen, STAR Leadership Training and Keystone. Guests, including the seniors’ friends and families, as well as, school board members and community partners, gathered in the gymnasium at the Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club for a memorable evening with a pasta dinner, entertainment and special recognition.

More than 60 graduating seniors from 11 different high schools were honored including Jonathan Buckley, Jose Correa, Avia Davis, Jacenia King, Jonson Ocean and Kate Schwab from Booker High School; Kyle Boose, Lexi Boynes, Stephen Bracciano, Cazmera Byzewski, Hannah Carlo, Sofia Cartaya, Zack Del Medico, Lindsey Heider, Jack Kempton, Ben Mayhew, Carolina Morales, Mike Moran, Emma Quintero, Leah Roddenberry, Michael Suarez, Caitlin Telford and Matthew Twargoski from Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School; Mikayla Pratt from Community Christian School; Fritz Azor, D’Shaun Dallemand and Hassan Hogan from North Port High School; Kiarra Womack from The Out-of-Door Academy; Halle Belden, Alexandra Chase, Camryn Cohen, Claire duTreil, Elayna Goodman, Katie Green, Luke Ourednik, Dean Page and Kayla Shelley from Pine View School;  Liliana Alvarez-Castillo, Victoria Ferroni, Lucero Guzman, Avery Hart, Chloe Hart, Kiara Huewitt, Mariana Mazzarantani, Lucas Riahi and Abby Stout from Riverview High School; Gabriela Bell-Nunez, Benjamin Lazara, Sarah Marin and Lindsey Sanchez from Sarasota High School; Kylee Eubanks, Peter Fischer, Al-Muta Hawks, Vincent Martinez and Daniela Vazquez from Sarasota Military Academy; Andrea Aray from Suncoast Polytechnical High School; Grant Alexander, Kiersten Arthur, Allison Barber, Morgan Bortz, Bailey Hines and Ethan Schmucker from Venice High School.

Awards and scholarships were also presented to seven seniors who demonstrated excellence in academic success, outstanding character and a commitment to leadership and service.

Camryn Cohen, Kayla Shelley and Kiarra Womack received the Shannon Staub Leadership Award provided by the Shannon Staub Excellence in Leadership Scholarship Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County; Hannah Carlo and Kathleen Schwab received the Karen Bogues Community Service Award provided by the Karen Bogues Community Service Award Scholarship Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County; Carolina Morales was awarded the Evie Anderson Memorial Civic Engagement Scholarship presented by the Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA); and Al-Muta Hawks was presented the Superstar Status Award in recognition of receiving the Robert and Patricia Gussin Endowed Scholarship at Duquesne University.
