21st Century Community Learning Centers Program
Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers offer academic, artistic, and cultural enrichment opportunities to students and their families when school is not in session. Our programs nourish the mind as well as the body. We provide healthy snacks and warm inviting places conducive to opening the mind to the possibilities available through learning. Our centers provide students with a broad array of other activities – such as drug and violence prevention, counseling, art, music, recreation, technology, and character education programs. Our programs serve the families of participating students, by identifying the literacy needs of individual families and matching them with the appropriate program. Our goal is to Provide Opportunities for Academic Enrichment, including tutorial services to help students, particularly students who attend low-performing schools, to meet state academic standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and mathematics.
