As our world continues to change, it is important to equip our youth with the skills to adapt and create long-lasting employment. Entrepreneurial education is the best avenue to develop critical thinking, leadership and financial literacy skills. An entrepreneurial mindset improves student’s education performance and career opportunities. A study conducted by Harvard Graduate School of Education found that high schools students who participated in a 50+ hour entrepreneurial program showed increased interest in furthering education and career ambitions.

The Perlman Price Young Entrepreneurs Program (PYE) incorporates internationally-recognized curriculum with practical business exposure from leaders in the entrepreneurial field. The program focuses on developing the entrepreneurial mindset through mentorship and community engagement. Through the course of the program students will develop a written and visual business plan and will compete for start-up funds from local investors!

The 65+ hour PYE Program is offered three times a year at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County Tom & Debbie Shapiro Career Resource Center.

Mentorship is a crucial element for success and we are seeking dedicated mentors to continue cultivating student’s entrepreneurial skills. Students will be matched with mentors in their industry of interest upon completion of the program. Mentors will engage and educate students on business operations, networking and relationship building.

This fall, we are continuing the second part of our Perlman Price Young Entrepreneurs Program, PYE². This addition will allow past PYE graduates to bring the ideas they formed to life, develop prototypes, network with local professionals, and apply for startup funds.
